A change to the bylaws was approved at the April 3,
2009 Annual Meeting. Article 1, Section 1 now reads:

1.1 Purpose. The New England Organization for
Human Services, An Organization for Human
Service Practitioners, Educators, and Students,
hereafter referred to as the organization, exists to
advocate for the profession of human services
and to encourage excellence through regional
and national cooperation in networking, research,
and career development.
